How Do you STRUCTURE therapy, and What are the first few sessions like?
Initially I will meet with the two of you together. This session is to get to know each of you and will last 1.5 hours. Each session after that is 50 minutes. In session #2, I will meet with one of you alone and the other person alone in session #3. These are confidential. I will not tell your partner what you share with me. I do this so that you each feel free to share with me about your relationship so that I may see it through each of your eyes. I do however, encourage you and your partner to talk about these private sessions together. Sessions #4 and on I will meet with you together unless I feel like someone needs to come in individually, or wants to come in individually. Anytime I meet with someone individually I will not share what we talked about. It is confidential.
Are the sessions confidential?
Yes. What we talk about in session will not be discussed with anyone.
Are their limits to confidentiality?
Yes. Everything is confidential unless you tell me that you are going to harm yourself, harm someone else, or someone is harming you. Then I am mandated to break confidentiality and do what I need to do to keep you safe.
How much do your sessions cost?
The initial 1.5 hour session is $270.00. Each session after that is $200.00 for 50 minutes. Sessions starting at 5:00pm or later will be charged at the rates stated plus $20.00.
How long are your sessions?
The initial session is 1.5 hours. Regular sessions are 50 minutes long. I also offer double sessions, 1.5 hour sessions, and half hour sessions.
How often do we come?
Initially I like to meet with people weekly but as therapy progresses we can adjust the frequency.
Can we come more than once a week?
Yes. Some people prefer to come more than once a week.
How long will we be in therapy with you?
There is not one answer for this. It depends on the issue(s), individuals and participation in therapy.
